Mothers Day Adventure

I decided to do something special for mother's day this year and take my mom out to Longwood Garden's in Kennett Square, Pa, and to a very nice dinner.  I was never one for flowers or landscaping in general but the science nerd in me really enjoyed studying the different plants from around the world, plus the scenery was magnificent. Here are pictures from the trip. I must warn you it's mostly close up pictures of flowers so it does get old after awhile.

My favorite spot in the whole place. The tower is filled with Chimes.
 Awesome water show.
 Delicious food at exorbitant prices!

As if you can't tell by the photos, I am definitely an orchid guy when it comes to flowers. There was an entire room of hundreds of different orchids which kept me busy for a long time.  After the tour we enjoyed a stop at The Halfmoon Tavern and Restaurant where I dined on a kangaroo steak and an antelope steak. Kangaroo is one of the most delicious meats I have ever eaten. It's very very lean, has the texture of a high end steak, but a sweet gamey flavor.  Try it if you ever get a chance.
